Peruvian Tourism Companies Explore Innovation in Spain
SIPPO Peru supported PROMPERÚ in organizing the third international internship for tourism companies, a key initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities of Peruvian entrepreneurs in the sector.

As part of this experience, fifteen companies that graduated from the Commercial Program for Tourism Companies traveled to Spain, where they participated in various training activities and explored innovative tourism models. During their stay, they engaged in olive oil tourism, a practice that enhances the sale of natural olive oil by offering an immersive journey through its history and impact on the community, creating a truly transformative experience.
While in Europe, the participants visited the Andalusia Tourism Innovation Center, where they learned from successful case studies and strategies designed to boost competitiveness and innovation in tourism destinations. They also explored how these strategies could be adapted and applied to their own businesses and services in Peru.
A highlight of the internship was their participation in the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS), the world’s leading event in tourism innovation, held in Seville from October 23 to 25, 2024. This event brings together global experts to discuss the latest technological trends and their impact on sustainable tourism. Through a technology solutions fair, seminars, and networking opportunities, the program graduates strengthened their knowledge and expanded their connections with key industry players.
Technology and innovation are fundamental pillars for transforming the tourism industry and making it more sustainable. The participation of these Peruvian companies in the international internship reinforces the commitment of SIPPO Peru and PROMPERÚ to modernizing and growing the tourism sector in the country, driving innovative strategies to enhance its competitiveness in the global market.
